KNTU ePrints is the open access institutional repository of K. N. Toosi University of Technology (KNTU), dedicated to collecting, preserving, and providing worldwide access to the scholarly and research outputs produced by KNTU faculty members, researchers, students, and staff.
The repository serves as a central, permanent, and searchable showcase of KNTU's intellectual achievements, including journal articles, conference papers, theses and dissertations, technical reports, book chapters, datasets, and other research materials (where permitted).
Deposits are typically made by authorized library staff performing basic moderation for metadata quality and compliance.
Our Mission
- To support Open Access principles, enabling free and immediate access to research without financial, legal, or technical barriers.
- To increase the visibility, impact, and discoverability of KNTU research outputs globally.
- To ensure long-term preservation and reliable citation of KNTU scholarly work.
- To assist KNTU researchers in meeting funder mandates, national open science policies, and academic evaluation requirements.
What Can Be Deposited?
KNTU ePrints accepts a wide range of scholarly outputs, primarily:
- Peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings (preferably the accepted manuscript version – the final peer-reviewed version before publisher formatting).
- Theses and dissertations (with supervisor approval).
- Preprints, working papers, technical reports, and other gray literature.
- Research data, software, or supplementary materials (subject to appropriate licensing and ethics approval).
Open Access and Usage Rights
Most items in KNTU ePrints are made available under an open access model, meaning they can be freely read, downloaded, and shared worldwide. To support open sharing while respecting publisher policies and copyright:
- Many full-text items are available immediately or after an embargo period (as allowed by publishers).
- Metadata (title, authors, abstract, keywords, DOI if available) is always openly accessible, even if the full text is restricted.
- Unless otherwise specified, deposited works are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license or similar. This permits non-commercial use, sharing, and adaptation with proper attribution, but prohibits commercial exploitation without permission.
